WILMINGTON -- After Eric Bunker scored his second touchdown of the night, the home crowd headed to their cars. It took time, eight years actually, but Masconomet got past Wilmington, 21-0, for its first victory here since 1998. ``I can't tell you how many times they beat us since 1998," Masco coach Jim Pugh said. ``I was very impressed and proud of our kids." Masconomet (4-1, 1-0 Cape Ann) almost doubled the offensive production of the Wildcats (250 to 129 yards ). Andrew Dyer and Eric Bunker combined for 156 yards rushing and two TDs. In the first half, Wilmington tried to pound the middle with Rich Barry, keeping Division 2A's leading passer, Kyle Moon, ready to throw to the division's leading receiver, Greg Stewart. Instead, Moon, a junior, went to the sideline after the first half with a leg injury.
The Scottish Construction Forum has welcomed the announcement that new academies will be set up to lead skills and training in traditional trades. The plans by First Minister Jack McConnell will remove thousands of pupils aged 14 and over from traditional school who are not responding to traditional academic learning. Up to 100 new centres are proposed either on school site or at further education colleges. The move is seen as a radical solution to deal with the thousands of school leavers who leave education with no qualifications. .
Chestnuthill Township provides residents with a valuable service through its recycling depot. Thus township officials made the right response when a resident and former recycling contractor questioned whether they were handling their appliance recycling procedures correctly to prevent pollution. They invited local and state environmental officials to inspect the operation. Chestnuthill came out with flying colors.
On Monday a supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the director of the Monroe County Municipal Solid Waste Management Authority accompanied township Supervisor Chuck Gould and township Manager David Albright in a review of the site, on Hill Crest Drive. Their focus was on the "white goods" — refrigerators, washing machines and the like — that the township crushes and compacts before a contractor picks them up.

SAN FRANCISCO LAWFUEL - Legal News Network - United States Attorney Kevin V. Ryan announced that Fred De Manuel, Jr. pleaded guilty today to filing a false federal income tax return for the 2001 tax year. This guilty plea is the result of an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation.
Mr. De Manuel, Jr., 61, of San Francisco, is the sole owner of FRM Builders, a business that specializes in home renovations in the Bay area. He was indicted by a federal Grand Jury on June 29, 2006. Under the plea agreement, Mr. De Manuel, Jr. pleaded guilty to one count of willfully making and subscribing a false income tax return in violation of 26 U.S.C. 7206(1).
In pleading guilty, Mr. De Manuel, Jr. admitted that, as sole owner of FRM Builders, a Schedule C business, he was required to report its gross business receipts on his personal federal income tax return, and he was required to pay income and self-employment taxes on FRM Builders net income after legitimate expenses were deducted.
