Oscar winner Robert De Niro has paid millions for the former home of Miramax boss Harvey Weinstein. The Hollywood actor bought the lavish 15-room property on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York, from Weinstein's ex-wife, Eve, for a reported $23 million. The property features stunning views of Central Park and includes a luxurious film theatre, installed by movie mogul Weinstein before the couple divorced last year. The star, 63, will share the property with his wife of nine years, Grace Hightower. Among his new neighbors are Sting and his wife Trudie Styler, who own the apartment directly below De Niro's. JOLIET, Ill. (AP) -- A worker has been killed while doing maintenance on a boiler unit at a Midwest Generation plant in Joliet today. Will County Sheriff's spokesman Pat Barry says it appears that three independent contractors fell into an "ash pit" at the plant. Company spokesman Charley Parnell says two workers managed to escape to safety but a third was killed in the accident. The area where the contractors were working was off-line at the time. Parnell says Midwest Generation is cooperating with investigators. Last month, several workers were injured in an explosion at a Midwest Generation plant in nearby Romeoville. The company produces wholesale power and sells the electricity on the open market. It operates six plants in Illinois. © 2006 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.

(autoinsidernews) - Caparo Vehicle Technologies has completed construction of the first of two Caparo T1 prototypes and has already begun testing the car. The first T1 prototype labeled ‘XP1′ successfully started under it's own power and will be used for high speed trials and engine mapping and long-term durability tests. The company is currently working on construction of the second prototype, ‘XP2,' which is expected to be completed before the end of the year. The second prototype will have a similar life of performance and durability testing, reports Trend. The first production Caparo T1 is scheduled to roll off the line in March of 2007. With an annual output of only 24 cars, it isn't a huge surprise that half of the first year production vehicles have already been pre-ordered.
